Following the tutorial and when I got to terrain lighting, I had no errors but no lighting appeared. After spending some time comparing my code to the code you had shown I found the tutorial is missing the addition of:

effect.Parameters["xEnableLighting"].SetValue(true);

It is in the final source, but it does not mention it anywhere in the actual tutorial part.

Just a minor error that might help solve some problems people might hit if they follow the tutorial instead of just copy/pasting the source. :P

Also, he didn't mention that he replaced the camera; if you take the code as he suggested from the earlier chapter, the camera will be placed at 60, 80, -80, but in the final code of this chapter it is at 0, 100, 100. If you followed the tutorial and the lightning overall is too dark, this is the solution.
